StomatoPod
Project Name: StomatoPod
Device: Prototype of illuminated shoes indicating walking patterns
Purpose: Hobbiest project focused on wearable electronics
Project Goals:
Distiguish different walking patterns and provide feedback illuminating the peripheral of the shoes
Features:
-
ZigBee communication
-
Built-in rechargeable battery
-
Micro-USB for data or charging purposes
-
LED RGB array
Basic Use:
User wears the shoes and turns on the two modules. Then a wireless connection is established between the modules and a special blinking pattern is going to be revealed. When the user starts walking, the illumination patterns are varieted every time he/she changes his/her walking speed or force of every step.
Benefits:
-
Study walking patterns
-
Collecting stepping, force and weight data
Other uses:
We can extend the purpose of this project by using a couple of accelerometers, strench and bend sensors in order to implement a perfect tool in medicine about diagnosing and evaluating orthopedic problems and balancing issues.
